It wasn’t an easy journey to get to where we are with our special GF cakes. Failed experiment after failed experiment happened, where all manners of gloopy messes were coming out of the oven. But we just had to have a yummy gluten free alternative for the cafe. Impossible you say? Well just get a load of this baby. A rich chocolate sponge, without a trace of wheat gluten. Also comes in vanilla flavour which is just as yum.

November 24, 2011Pumpkin Pie for Thanksgiving
In honour of the American holiday, we decided to bake a little treat for those missing a taste of home. What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than having a slice of home made pumpkin pie? This one comes with a yummy twist – a dollop of Bali Gula (palm sugar) whipped cream on top. Delicious.
Of course, we had to have a taste test by an American boy.
It’s fair to say that he approved. This is what was left 30 seconds later.

Welcome to Localista! It’s taken a while, but our website is finally up and running. We’ve had quite a first few weeks, a lot of teething problems but also a lot of little successes. We are proud to say that we’re now serving the best coffee and cupcakes in town. Well, that is, according to all our loyal customers. Yes, even in this short amount of time, we have customers that just keep coming back for their daily fix of caffeine and sugary goodness.
Thank you to our wonderful staff and friends for making this a wonderful first month.
